How are campers grouped in Specialty Camp?
Each Specialty Camp is structured with specific grade requirements to ensure age-appropriate activities and skill development! All Specialty Camps are thoughtfully designed to bring together campers from a range of grade levels, encouraging collaboration, learning, and social interaction among peers of varying ages.
Can my camper request to be grouped with friends?
If a camper wishes to attend a Specialty Camp with a friend or group of friends, all participants must register for the same course. However, we are unable to accommodate requests to move campers outside of the designated grade range for Specialty Camps to align with friends. This policy ensures that all campers engage in activities designed specifically for their developmental stage and grade level.
What does a typical day look like at Specialty Camp?
Specialty Camps are designed to provide campers with an in-depth exploration of their chosen content area. Unlike Signature Camp, Specialty Camps feature fewer transitions, allowing for a more focused and immersive experience. Morning Specialty Camps include a built-in snack break and an optional recess, while afternoon Specialty Camps include lunch and the option for recess. Additionally, all Specialty Camp participants have the opportunity to join camp-wide rallies, fostering a sense of community and engagement across the broader camp experience.
How does my camper transition if they are in half day Specialty Camp?
Campers transitioning between programs at lunchtime—either from or to a Specialty Camp—will experience a seamless and well-coordinated handoff from their morning counselors to their afternoon counselors. Our dedicated staff will personally assist with each transition, introducing campers to their new counselors and ensuring they are prepared for an exciting afternoon of activities! Campers will eat with their afternoon groups and counselors.
We greatly appreciate the work of the bsp team - our daughter finds camp fun, engaging and a great way to spend some time on campus and connect with new and returning friends. We enjoyed hearing her talk about fun-filled day each car ride home!
