During these two-week courses you have the opportunity to explore your specific interests. Classes are intended to be mixed and matched with other offerings at Breck Summer Programs to create the ideal camp experience tailored to each individual child. Mix two half day courses or choose one specialty course to pair with our Camp Breck or Sports Camp programs to create a full day of programming! Our friendly staff will ensure your camper seamlessly transitions from one course to the next.
Camp wide lunch period is from 12:00-12:30 daily. Campers enrolled in full day programming will eat lunch with their groups. Campers participating in Sports Camps, Specialty Camps or Afternoon Only camps will eat from 12:00-12:30 with their afternoon camp group and class will begin at 12:30pm.

Clay Workshop
Can't get enough art & clay? In this two week class there will be time to explore all the wonderful squishy, sticky, sparkly things about clay. We will make clay projects that are enchanting, marvelous, and silly; some that are even useful, and probably a few duds. Learning the art of clay is a joyful process, whatever the outcome. Join Breck's beloved "Mayor of Artville", Carol Grams for this fun {and messy} session!

Advanced Sewing
Join educator Dori Berg as she takes you deeper into the world of sewing. This course will build on skills learned in SEW FUN and will even teach you the beginnings and basics of quilting. We will stay busy throughout this two week course by learning to make button holes, apply buttons to garments, a pillow with hand applique/embroidery and a new shirt made just for you. With the basics under your belt, there is no telling what skills you will take with you and the projects you will continue to create using this lifelong skill! **Please note campers must have previously taken SEW FUN prior to this course.**

Code Ninjas: Minecraft & Roblox Realms
Breck Summer Programs and Code Ninjas team up to offer an immersive environment for campers to explore the popular worlds of Minecraft and Roblox. In this course, every camper becomes an architect by designing, planning, and constructing their very own 3D world! Campers will be guided by Code Senseis on a quest to master the art of crafting characters, conquering daring obbies (obstacle courses), enhancing the beauty of their Minecraft worlds with 2D and 3D textures, and unraveling the hidden gems of both games. Become an explorer and create adventures, play games, roleplay, and learn with friends in a family-friendly virtual environment. Ninjas will have a blast while building confidence, experiencing teamwork, and growing their problem solving, critical thinking, and logical thinking skills!

Red Cross Babysitting Training
Red Cross Babysittering Training provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. Campers in this course will even put their knowledge to the test as they help care for, create and develop plans in partnership with our Camp Breck Preschool program. This course is led by Lower School Librarian, Emily Jones.
*Campers must be 11 years old by June 17, 2024 to enroll in this course.

Theater Production Workshop
The Children’s Theatre Company and Breck Summer Programs are teaming up to put on quite the production! Through a combination of storytelling, creative writing and theater arts exercises, campers will explore the art of story and set design. Campers will work together to create a script and design a set to put on their very own show. Campers will learn lines, create props and costumes, and bring their production to life to be shared anew with families on the final day of the session for a performance in Breck’s Cargill Theater.

Sew Fun
Calling all fashionistas! Join educator Dori Berg as she teaches you basic sewing concepts. Throughout this two week course, you will have the opportunity to use a sewing machine to create your very own projects. We will learn basic sewing techniques to create beautiful and useful works of art and take trips to a fabric store where you can pick out your own fabric and make something FABULOUS.

Pet Portraits
Join Kat Corrigan, Breck Art Teacher, in this two-week course delving into the world of acrylic paint with some incredibly PAWsome subjects in mind...PETS! During this hands-on and engaging course, artists will gain insights into canvas preparation, palette setup, and color selection and mixing. Campers will learn various techniques and receive individual guidance of still life painting as they paint their beloved pet or favorite animal. This session is sure to be filled with memories that will last fur-ever. What are you waiting for? Sign up right meow!

Wolf Ridge Overnight
Adventure, awareness, and respect are what you will experience in this active and experiential overnight environmental course. You will have the extraordinary opportunity to explore the great outdoors while staying, Monday-Friday, at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, located in Finland, MN (www.wolf-ridge.org). Soar to new heights while learning to rock climb and tackling the high-element ropes course. You will also study nature firsthand as you participate in classes such as animal signs, stream study, wetland ecology, living lightly, canoeing and Voyageur life. These classes rotate each year to spark the interest of both returning and new campers. The bsp tradition continues as campers will journey away from the Wolf Ridge Campus for a day- trip to Ely or up Minnesota's North Shore to Grand Marais and beyond. But that’s not all! No “off-campus journey” would be complete without dinner out on the town. We will end our adventure-filled day at a local pizza restaurant before returning to Wolf Ridge for the night. In closing, Wolf Ridge is perfect for all types of middle school campers. Whether it is their first time dipping their toes in an overnight experience or they are seasoned vets, campers will enjoy spending time with friends, meeting new ones, and enjoying the outdoors in one of North America's hidden treasures.

Due to the three day session, we will not be diving into Specialty Camps during Session Two. Please explore Signature Camp for second session programming. Join us for Patriotic Palooza for three fun-filled red, white, and blue theme days. From cookouts and yard games to tie dye and glow sticks, it’s sure to be a Party in the USA!

Games Galore
Welcome to Games Galore, where strategy meets fun and friendships are forged through the exciting world of board games! During the first week of this two-week course, campers will immerse themselves in a world of board games, from classic favorites to modern gems. Campers will have the chance to explore a wide variety of games that cater to different interests and skill levels. During the second week, campers will unleash their creativity by participating in game design workshops. Under the guidance of Breck Lower School teacher, Ty Thayer, campers will learn the basics of creating board games, from conceptualizing unique themes to designing game boards and pieces. Campers will design, build, package, and take home their very own game to play and share with others. Who knows, your prototype may be the next big hit!

Chess Camp
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced chess player, Chess Camp promises to provide you with hours of fun as we explore strategy and tactics, chess history, rules of the game and much more. Summer Stage
Lights, Camera, ACTION! Join us while we channel Hollywood, where imagination takes center stage and young actors shine! Summer Stage is designed to inspire creativity, boost confidence, and ignite a passion for the performing arts. Each camper will have the opportunity to explore different roles and genres, fostering a love for storytelling through performance. Mission Competition
It’s back and this time it’s better than ever! Yes, you will still participate in a spitting distance competition. Yes, this experience is still tailor-made for lovers of baseball, football, soccer, high-dives, mud, loud music, action movies, fort-building, mosquito bites, capture-the-flag, Risk, water-balloon fights, any game that resembles dodge ball, basketball, camping, boot hockey, tug-of-war, go-carts, 500, real-life Survivor and any activity better suited for a padded room or a dirt field. If any of the activities listed above sound exciting, this is the adventure for you. Jedi Robotics & Super Structures
Travel with us to a galaxy far, far away as bsp partners with Snapology! Young Jedis will climb aboard and take this intergalactic journey in this futuristic camp that blends robotics inspired by Star Wars® and space exploration with architectural design! During the first week of this course, campers will delve into the realms of space, space travel, and the iconic Star Wars® universe. Students will have the opportunity to construct and code various robots daily using the cutting-edge LEGO Spike Prime robotics kits. During the second week, aspiring architects will channel their creativity into designing both aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces. Code Ninjas: Designing the Future with Makey Makey and 3D Printing
Experience the seamless combination of digital and physical worlds in this Makey Makey and 3D Printing course. In partnership with Code Ninjas, campers will go on an electrifying journey where they'll discover how to harness Makey Makey's power to transform everyday objects with electrical conductivity into functional circuits. Campers will craft their very own electronic devices such as sensors, game controllers, keyboards, and mice. The adventure continues as campers step into the world of 3D printing. Using CAD (computer-aided design), they'll design, test, refine, and bring their three-dimensional creations to life while learning how to set up and maintain a 3D printer. Adventure Mountain Biking
Join us for an exhilarating and thrilling Adventure Mountain Biking course! This program is specially crafted for campers with some mountain biking experience on single track trails. For those who haven't ventured onto the trails yet, fret not–we welcome riders who are confident in their general biking skills, as our expert instructors will support, encourage, and guide you through the key fundamentals of bike handling. Throughout this two week session, riders will have the unique opportunity to not only learn these essential skills, but also to refine and master them on various single track trails in and around the Twin Cities–many of which we hope to visit!. Trails explored may be Theodore Wirth Trail, Lebanon Hills, Battle Creek, Elm Creek and Monarch. During the first week of this bsp and Snapology course, a devastating earthquake has struck the fictional town of Dalto, CA. Campers, can you rise to the occasion and save the town? Armed with newfound skills in building, programming, modifying, and driving remote-controlled LEGO® robots, campers will collaborate and employ engineering concepts to address post-disaster challenges. The second week seamlessly blends teamwork, social skill development, and hands-on experimentation with STEAM concepts inspired by popular reality TV shows like Lego Masters, Amazing Race, and Survivor!
