Our team is comprised of experienced educators, graduate students, and college students—many of whom are pursuing degrees in education—as well as select Breck Upper School students. Every staff member undergoes a thorough screening process, including interviews, reference checks, and background checks. Additionally, all staff participate in comprehensive pre-camp training, attend preparatory meetings, and hold current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Signature Camp Counselor

Signature Camp Counselor:

As a Signature Camp Counselor, you play a pivotal role in creating an enriching and memorable experience for our campers. Your enthusiasm, leadership, and dedication will set the tone for a fun, safe, and dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include:

Engaging Actively in Activities: Immerse yourself fully in activities alongside campers and assist specialists to ensure smooth and enjoyable participation. Activities may include:
- Swimming lessons
- Creative arts and crafts
- Gym games and fitness challenges
- Outdoor sports and team games
- Free play and recess
- Music, songs, and performing arts
Ensuring Camper Safety: Maintain vigilant supervision at all times, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of every camper.

Signature Camp Activity Leader:

As a Signature Camp Activity Leader, your creativity, leadership, and commitment will shape an engaging and impactful experience for our campers. Your role involves planning and implementing activities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and connection. Key responsibilities include:

Designing Engaging Activities: Plan and lead a variety of developmentally appropriate recreational and educational activities tailored to camper interests and aligned with the camp’s theme. Ensure activities are engaging, inclusive, and foster both fun and learning.
Ensuring Camper Safety: Provide consistent and effective supervision to create a safe and supportive environment where campers can thrive. Prioritize safety protocols in every aspect of planning and execution.
Building Positive Relationships: Develop genuine and caring connections with campers, creating a welcoming atmosphere where they feel valued, understood, and encouraged.
Modeling Leadership and Integrity: Serve as a role model by demonstrating positive behavior, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Inspire campers by embodying the values of respect, responsibility, and teamwork.

Sports Camp Counselor

Sports Camp Counselor:

As a Sports Camp Counselor, your enthusiasm for athletics and dedication to mentorship will help create a dynamic and inclusive environment where campers can develop their skills and confidence. Your leadership will inspire teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. Key responsibilities include:

Designing and Leading Activities: Plan and lead engaging drills, scrimmages, and sports-related games that cater to various skill levels. Ensure activities are challenging, fun, and promote growth in athletic ability and confidence.
Fostering a Positive Atmosphere: Cultivate an environment that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and mutual respect among players of all abilities, both on the field and in the classroom.
Keep Campers Engaged in the Enrolled Sport: Ensure campers remain actively involved and excited about their chosen sport. Use creative drills, interactive activities, and positive encouragement to maintain their focus and enthusiasm, helping them build skills while having fun.
Prioritizing Camper Safety: Maintain constant, proactive supervision to ensure a safe and supportive space for all participants. Uphold and enforce safety protocols during all activities.
Serving as a Role Model: Demonstrate positive behavior, leadership, and respect in all interactions. Lead by example, showing campers how to embrace challenges, work collaboratively, and celebrate successes.

Lifeguard

Lifeguard: *Certification Required:

As a Signature Camp Lifeguard, you are entrusted with the critical responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers in and around the pool. Your vigilance, professionalism, and leadership will help create a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment. Key responsibilities include:

Enforcing Pool Safety: Clearly explain and uphold all pool rules, regulations, and policies to ensure a safe environment for all swimmers. Use positive, clear communication to educate campers on the importance of pool safety.
Emergency Response: Act swiftly and effectively in emergencies, performing water rescues, administering First Aid, and utilizing lifesaving techniques as needed. Your preparedness and composure will provide peace of mind for campers and staff alike.
Constant Supervision: Maintain vigilant supervision at all times, proactively monitoring camper activities in and around the pool to prevent accidents and address potential hazards immediately.
First Aid Expertise: Administer First Aid and CPR as necessary, demonstrating confidence and skill in managing minor injuries or critical situations.
Setting a Positive Example: Serve as a role model by exemplifying responsibility, respect, and enthusiasm in every interaction. Encourage campers to practice good sportsmanship, follow rules, and develop confidence in their swimming abilities.
